Oasis Ministries Australia Incorporated was formed in April 2003 after a group of like-minded people met to discuss a vision involving the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people of country Australia. OASIS began in the hearts of Les and Georgie Hook, who have been living in Boggabilla, NSW since January 2002 and have been ministering into the needs of this and other Aboriginal communities in many different ways, some of which include preaching and teaching in the local Church, counselling and distributing clothing and other donated goods.

In 2004 Les & Georgie both completed the Diploma in Aboriginal Family and Community Counselling  through the University of New England at Armidale and are founding Pastors of Oasis Family and Community Church in Boggabilla NSW.

The general aim of OASIS MINISTRIES is to minister within Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in Australia by providing practical, financial and spiritual support to those in need. One of the functions of OASIS is to equip Indigenous leaders for Ministry and to assist with the preparation and provision of resource materials for use in local Churches.
